The main objective of HARVEST is to research innovative technological solutions to reduce energy consumption and improve the profitability of red leaf lettuce production for minimally processed (IV range) foods in indoor growing systems.
General Objectives
The main objective of HARVEST is to research innovative technological solutions to reduce energy consumption and improve the profitability of red leaf lettuce production for minimally processed (IV range) foods in indoor growing systems.
Specific Objectives:
The specific objectives pursued are:
- Reduce lighting electricity consumption by 40% through smart lighting and the use of hybrid systems.
- Reduce total energy consumption by 30% through the integration of advanced energy management strategies that incorporate AI-based algorithms for decision-making.
- Increase internal climate stability by 20% and optimize crop growth through the integration of active and passive strategies.
- Ensure real-time monitoring and management of energy, environmental, and crop systems through advanced software (“Farming Digital Management System”) that interrelates the data obtained using Knowledge Graph ontologies.
