NEIKER offers 7 grants to empower the next generation of researchers

NEIKER is looking to recruit talented young people with a scientific curiosity and a desire to learn through the Basque Government’s IKERTALENT scholarship programmes.

The aim is to offer a high-calibre training experience within a leading research environment, where science is transformed into real solutions for more sustainable agriculture, livestock farming, forestry and environmental management.

Two types of grants

To cater for different profiles and career interests, NEIKER offers two types of scholarship.

• Scholarships for technical staff. Designed for those wishing to gain practical experience in applied research, these scholarships provide training in the techniques, methodologies and tools used in real-world scientific projects. Participants will work alongside multidisciplinary teams and gain first-hand insight into how research is managed at a leading technology centre.
• Pre-doctoral scholarships. Aimed at those who wish to undertake a doctoral thesis and embark on a research career. This programme offers the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of a specific scientific field, take part in national and international projects, and generate knowledge that helps tackle global challenges relating to food, health, the environment and sustainability.
