Using digital technology to facilitate the transition to resilient livestock systems

  • Project start: 01/12/2022
  • Project end: 30/11/2024
  • Principal investigator: Pilar Merino
  • Funder: MCIN
  • Budget: 498,970.80 (31.4% financed)
  • Partners: UPV, CSIC Granada, IVIA, IRIAF, CITA

General objetive:

To use data based on sensors installed on farms to improve decision-making by farmers and technicians. This requires multidisciplinary work that involves combining advanced mathematical treatments with knowledge of animal production in various areas such as genetics, nutrition, environment.

Specific objetives:

  • Facilitate the transition of livestock farmers towards a digitalised livestock sector in which data management plays a role in the ecological transition.
  • Promote the resilience and adaptation of livestock production systems to climate change scenarios.

TED2021-130759B-C32 research project funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR
