”The use of new biotechnological tools in genetic improvement of potato programmes to a large extent accelerates the process of obtaining new varieties tolerant to hydric stress, high quality low inputs as well as increased resistance to emerging diseases.
The project aims to implement new genetic selection technologies such as association mapping and development of molecular markers in the genetic improvement of potato programme chiefly focused on stresses due to climate change. The aim of this is to reduce the time required to obtain new varieties, optimising the selection process.”
