Overall objective:

To strengthen the adaptation of ruminant livestock systems in Europe to climate change.

Specific Objectives and Results:

  • Build and maintain dynamic cooperation among stakeholders in the agricultural sector: researchers, advisors, professionals, educators, livestock farmers, etc., from the 5 ruminant sectors and the 17 territories involved in the 6 countries, during and after the project
  • Promote a common European understanding of the manifestations of climate change and its impacts on animals, food resources, and the economy
  • Equip advisors and stakeholders in the sector with 70 technical solutions and 10 validated tools to facilitate knowledge appropriation and its transfer to livestock farmers by 2032
  • Implement new adaptation practices among 270 livestock farmers and 11 experimental farms, monitor and support these trials, and share and disseminate knowledge through peer exchanges during 345 outreach events, with the aim of reaching 50,000 livestock farmers by 2032
  • Ensure the compatibility of adaptation measures and strategies with other aspects such as climate change mitigation, biodiversity, the economy, and the work of livestock farmers
  • Develop transfer tools to guarantee the sustainability and replicability of the actions implemented in the project after 2032
