CRYSE

The aim of the project is to develop a clonal propagation protocol of Cryptomeria japonica and Sequoia sempervirens by somatic embryogenesis.

The health conditions included in the red fungal diseases that are severely affecting the genus Pinus in the Basque Country are leading to the introduction of alternative productive species to this genus. Therefore, the forest administration has requested starting the fine tuning of methods for the clonal reproduction of these species to anticipate the possible massive introduction of elite plants of these species.
