General Objective
To introduce the new crop of organic soybeans for human consumption into the crop rotation of farms in the Basque Country, as a high-value-added alternative crop that is profitable for farmers and easy to implement on their farms due to its positive agronomic characteristics.
Specific Objectives
To promote the cultivation of organic legumes in the Basque Country as a profitable alternative in current crop rotations, improving farmers’ profitability and adding value to the food industry by providing consumers with a new local, organic, and sustainable product.
Results
- E 1.1: Agronomic data recorded during the implementation of the various organic soybean varieties tested in small-scale pilot projects. Report on crop management and comparison between different varieties to assess which is the most suitable. (NEIKER)
- E 1.2: Obtaining more than 280 kg of organic soybeans for processing in Zuaitzo (food industry, partner of the operating group) (NEIKER)
- E 2.1: Agricultural crop management manual (NEIKER-UAGA)
- E 2.2: Production of a total of 400 kg of organic soybeans in batches destined for Zuaitzo (food industry, partner of the operational group) (FARMERS-NEIKER-UAGA)
