At NEIKER, we continue to work on the evaluation and understanding of new varieties, and in this regard, we present the results of the trials of oat, wheat, and barley varieties carried out by the GENVCE Network during the 2024-2025 season, as well as the results of trials on soft autumn wheat and spring barley varieties conducted by the Álava Cereal Network.
The GENVCE Network trials were located in the Llanada Alavesa (Gauna) and evaluated different varieties of oats, short-cycle barley and long-cycle barley. The trials were carried out following the GENVCE Network protocol and will form part of the results that the network will publish with data from all over Spain.
We also present the results of the trials of soft autumn wheat varieties carried out by the Álava External Cereal Network in the 2024-2025 season. The varieties that had obtained the best results in previous seasons in the GENVCE Network trials have been evaluated in a trial in Tuesta. This provides data on how these varieties perform in different agroclimatic zones.
