Health monitoring of wild species in the Basque Country

The general objective of the project is to maintain a health monitoring programme for wild species in the Basque Country, allowing us to obtain information regarding the prevalence and distribution of pathologies in the natural environment of interest in terms of animal health and public health.

The specific objectives are:

1. To determine the health status of wild species in the Basque Country
2. To carry out the analyses under the National Wildlife Surveillance Plan (NWSP)
Study of the prevalence of Echinococcus granulosus and other cestodes of interest to public health, in wild and domestic species
