General objective

The goal The overall objective of the project is the evaluation, implementation, and transfer of an innovative, interactive, and flexible system for estimating the risk of crop diseases in agricultural plots in the Basque Country, using virtual weather stations located on each of the farm plots.

Specific Objectives

To achieve this objective, the development of pilot tests using the crop disease risk estimation system based on virtual weather stations in cultivated plots is proposed:

  • Validation of meteorological data provided by the virtual station system through the monitoring of agricultural plots.
  • Validation of models for estimating the risk of powdery mildew in grapevines and evaluation of the effectiveness of applying phytosanitary treatments based on information provided by virtual weather stations.
  • Validation of models for estimating the risk of downy mildew in potatoes and evaluation of the effectiveness of applying phytosanitary treatments based on information provided by virtual weather stations.

Results

  • Validate the accuracy of the virtual weather stations using fixed control stations.
  • Validate the accuracy of
  • To demonstrate the economic and environmental benefits of incorporating these digital precision agriculture tools.
