AGENDA 5 JUNE 2025: field day with a visit to the 2025 cereal variety evaluation trials

The cereal variety evaluation trials provide the cereal sector (technicians, farmers, agri-food industries and administration) with precise and practical information on the agronomic adaptation and quality of new cereal varieties and extensive crops in the different growing areas of Spain.
To this end, a field day will be held on 5 June 2025 to show the variety evaluation trials being carried out this season at the experimental farms.
The varieties tested within the GENVCE network of soft autumn wheat, autumn barley, spring barley and oats, as well as the OEVVV ‘agronomic value’ trials of soft autumn wheat, will be on display.
It will also be possible to see varieties of barley, wheat and oats provided for study by the GARLAN cooperative.
Also, as a novelty this year, it will be possible to see trials of leguminous plants.
Attendees will be offered full information on yields and other aspects of the varieties, cycle, agronomy, diseases, etc.
PROGRAMME
10:00 Reception at the variety trials farm
10:15 Visit to the Soft Winter Wheat (GENVCE) and GARLAN, Autumn Barley (GENVCE) and Oats (GENVCE) trials.
Visit to the agronomic value trials that NEIKER carries out for the ‘Oficina Española de Variedades Vegetales del Ministerio de Agricultura (OEVV)’ (Spanish Plant Varieties Office of the Ministry of Agriculture).
Visit to the trials of spring barley and legumes.
