When conditions are adverse, we are forced to adapt to them. The plants do too. Some herbs growing on mined lands have unusual resistance, they are used to living in a toxic environment and know how to cope. Taking this hypothesis as a starting point, the researcherLur epelde NEIKER researcher, has used these plants as herbal remedies for contaminated soils.
About the Author
Lur Epelde Sierra (Markina-Xemein, 1981) has a degree in Biology. Wrote his thesis under the direction of Carlos Garbisu and Maria Jesus Sevilla, Immunology, Microbiology and Parasitology teachers at the Faculty of Science and Technology. He currently works as a technician in NEIKER-Tecnalia, Basque Institute of Agricultural Research and Development. For the thesis, she has worked with NEIKER-Tecnalia, Caleb Brett Iberica, the Centre for Terrestrial Ecology of the Netherlandv Institute of Ecology and the Institute for Environmental Genomics, University of Oklahoma.
