Start of grazing trial in Northern Portugal (Demo 10)

After preparing the plot, installing water troughs with a 1000L water tank, acquiring mineral salt blocks, hay, pellet concentrate, and making an agreement with a local resident who will be responsible for daily accompanying the 25 goats from IPB to the grazing area and bringing them back to the stable at the end of the day, the small herd was transported from the School of Agriculture to the village of Vilarinho de Cova de Lua. Each animal was weighed and had its body condition assessed by a professor from the School of Agriculture before being transported.

Thus, we plan to let the herd graze the DEMO 10 area for 15 days. During this period, the animals and the availability of food resources in the field will be monitored to ensure their well-being.
